We follow the ICO’s advice on data protection:

  • regularly review the length of time we keep personal information;
  • securely delete or destroy information that is no longer needed; and

Data Storage:
We use private secure data storage, and your Personal information is protected against cyberattacks using server security best practices, a secure server firewall, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems. This type of hosting provides dedicated resources to a single user or organisation, providing greater security and control than shared hosting.
For services that require international data transfer, we ensure that such transfers comply with all applicable laws and maintain data protection standards equivalent to those in our primary location.
Data Hosting Partners: We partner with reputable data hosting providers committed to using state-of-the-art security measures. These partners are selected based on their adherence to stringent data protection standards.

Data Protection Measures:

  • Encryption: To protect data during transfer and at rest, we employ robust encryption technologies.

Data Sharing and Disclosure:
At ion’s Taxi, we are committed to safeguarding your personal information and ensuring it is treated with the utmost respect. This commitment extends to how we handle the sharing and disclosure of your data. Below we outline our practices in this area.

  • Sharing Personal Information:
    Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. Such trusted parties may have access to personally identifiable information on a need-to-know basis and will be contractually obliged to keep your information confidential. These partners are prohibited from using your personal information for any purpose other than to provide these services to ion’s Taxi, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
  • Data Processing Agreements:
    When we share your data with third-party service providers, we do so under the protection of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) that ensure your information is managed in accordance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws. These agreements mandate that third parties implement adequate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of your data.
    We share your Personal Information with third parties to allow us to use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use SumUp to power our online store. We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site — you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here(https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

We may share information with service providers under contract who help with parts of our business operations. Our contracts dictate that these service providers only use your information in connection with the services they perform for us and not for their own or any additional benefit.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant and/or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Other requests to disclose personal information:
We may receive requests from other individual or organisations asking for personal information about someone else (often known as a ‘third party request’);
In the case of a third party asking for someone else’s information, then there are only a limited number of circumstances in which we should provide this. These could include:

  • requests from insurers or loss adjusters;
  • requests from other regulators or government agencies;
  • where there is a court order or other legal obligation.
    We do not provide information about our customers’ journeys in response to casual enquiries from another person. This applies whether or not those people are personally known to you, or whether they indicate they have a personal connection to the person they’re asking about. They must also provide us in writing with a valid reason for asking for the information. We always verify the identity of the person making the request on each occasion and take care not to disclose personal information about other people not covered by the request.

The controller is responsible for responding to these requests in accordance with the law. Police or other law enforcement agencies should produce a standard template request form, setting out the reasons why the disclosure is required. Alternatively, a signed statement may be accepted. All requests should only be accepted where they are in writing and specify the reasons why disclosure is required.

Transferring Information Internationally:
We may transfer information collected about you to third parties acting on our behalf that may be located in countries outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or countries deemed by the European Commission to have satisfactory data protection. These other countries may not offer the same level of protection for the information collected about you, although we will at all times continue to collect, store and use your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the applicable data protection legislation. We will ensure we share data only with those organizations that satisfy an adequate level of data protection in line with applicable data protection legislation and that satisfactory contractual agreements are in place with any such parties.

Transparency and Control:
We believe in transparency and providing you with control over your personal information. You will always be informed about any significant changes to our sharing practices, and where applicable, you will have the option to consent to such changes.
Your trust is important to us, and we strive to ensure that your personal information is disclosed only in accordance with this policy and when there is a justified reason to do so.
